INFOSA - Palletizing of sea salt

INFOSA, a company specialising in the production, extraction, processing, packaging and commercialisation of sea salt, purchased from TMI a high-level ILERPAL palletiser for its saltpans of La Trinitat in the Ebro Delta, in Sant Carles de la Ràpita (Tarragona).

The palletiser can handle sacks of a wide variety of types of salt, both fine and coarse, dry and moist.

The maximum production capacity of the packaging line, working with fine, dry salt, is 1,300 x 25 kg sacks/hour.

The palletiser was supplied equipped with a special kit of anti-corrosion treatments and components to withstand the highly aggressive properties of the product and the saline ambience of the plant, located on a sandy peninsula in the Delta between the waters of the gulf of Els Alfacs and the Mediterranean Sea.

The sacks are turned by means of a flap whose principal advantage lies in having all the mechanisms and activations in the upper part, meaning that the highly corrosive remains of the product will never affect the parts needing maintenance. This leads to a longer life for the machine and minimum operating costs in terms of replacement parts and maintenance.
