MONER COCOA - palletizing robot for cocoa powder

Moner Cocoa, a firm belonging to the Nederland and Chocovic group of companies, has a fully automatic palletising line for cocoa powder in valve sacks in its plant in La Selva del Camp (Tarragona).

The installation is notable for the fact that the valve sacks are sealed ultrasonically, which means that the systems of flattening conventional sacks are not valid for this application.

The sacks are shaped in a station where the sack stops and then proceeds to a progressive flattening process of the top and sides while the contents of the sack are vibrated. A conventional system of flattening sacks in movement would cause breakages due to the pressure of the product itself.

Before the flattening station, the sacks pass over a weight-checking belt and a metal detector.

The P4 palletiser robot receives the filled sacks and places them on the pallet, rejecting any sack giving an error alarm due to weight or metal detection. It also has an automatic pallet dispenser and roller tracks to carry the pallets to the baler.

The palletising installation is designed for a capacity of around 6 T/h.
