G.A. Torres (Promicro) - Palletizing and stretch wrapping of micronized carob into 2700mm height pallets

A new automated palletising line for micronized carob in open-mouthed paper bags was recently supplied to the company Garrofas y Almendras Torres – Promicro for its plant in Quart de Poblet (Valencia).

Worthy of particular note is the difficulty of this application due to the physical characteristics of the product –it is extremely fluidized– which means defluidizing systems have to be used during packaging, leading to a partially-full, hermetically-sealed bag. Furthermore, the end of the line has been designed to handle pallets of up to 2.7 metres in height.

Due to the above, the choice was a ROBOSAC 800 palletizer, which combines the advantages of a layer palletizer with side and top shaping with the versatility of a robotized clamp for bag handling.

This ensures an optimum finish for the pallet, since all the layers are shaped from both the side and the top, and the fact that the bags are placed on it with a clamp allows the bags to be overlapped, since they are not completely full.

The installation is rounded off with a KEOPS automatic wrapper that incorporates an ISIS automatic pallet cover dispenser.

The result is a pallet that is unbeatable in terms of stability and final look.
