TMI has just started up a fully automatic unit for de-palletizing, breaking and emptying of paper valve bags, adapting own technology from gantry palletizer ROBOSAC P4.
Several modules have been modified to adapt ROBOSAC P4 to this application:
- Grip for bags catching / conveying / opening: incorporates a vacuum cup that takes filled bags from the pallet and bring them on a bucket connected to the product aspiration. Grip has an adapting articulation to compensate possible height differences on the loaded pallet. It also includes side hooks to help the opening process.
- Aspiration bucket incorporates four knives pneumatically driven that open the bag completely by its bottom side. Empty and broken bag is still taken by the vacuum grip at its top side this way. Grip makes an axe rotating movement to assure that bag has been totally emptied.
- Grip delivers the empty and broken bag on a belt conveyor once this has been emptied, and this belt is connected into a paper press.
De-palletizing and emptying station is fully automatic. Operator job is limited by putting the loaded pallet inside the gantry by means of a forklift. Same system is used to take the pallet once is empty.
