S&B INDUSTRIAL MINERALS SPAIN SLu – PALLETIZING OF PERLITE INTO PE (HYDROPONIC CROP) AND PAPER BAGS.

Former Otavi, S&B Industrial Minerals Spain company, with production plant in El Ejido (Almería) and belonging group S&B Industrial Minerals, has started up new bags palletizing line.

 

The palletizer, model ROBOSAC 800, it incorporates several particular devices to handle a wide range of formats with the maximum reliability. Formats are as follows:

 

-        Tubular PE units from 20 to 60 lit.

-        100 and 200 lit. PE bags

-        166 lit. valve paper bag

 

It is outstanding machine versatility to handle wide range of formats to handle including narrow and long bags (hydroponic crop), rectangular bags, and high volume valve bags because of the product low density.

Machine is automatically self-adjustable for all bags sizes.

 

ROBOSAC 800 philosophy combines virtues of layer palletizer - side and top conditioning of layers – with versatility of robotic grip for bags handling.

 

Handling grip is the most singular part of the installation since it includes a completely new designed for this particular purpose.

 

Palletizer receives bags by two different sides – double infeed -. One is for PE bags and the other one is for paper bags. Every entrance is connected by belts with the corresponding packers.

 

Scope of supply also includes the following elements previous to the palletizer:

 

-        Station for homogeneous spread of product inside the PE bags.

-        Automatic broken bags detection and rejection.

-        Detection and rejection for incomplete units.

 

An optimum final look of pallet is achieved this way because all layers are conditioned by its side and top part. Gripper is necessary as long and narrow format of bags does not allow moving them by side pushing.

 

Maximum stack stability is achieved for so unstable and light stack.
