A few months ago, Polish company Anwil, part of the Orlen group, opened a new packaging and palletising plant for fertilisers, specifically ammonium nitrate and calcium ammonium nitrate, in 25, 40 and 50 kg FFS bags.
The plant, located in Woclaweck in north-west Poland, boasts the latest manufacturing and packaging technology. The packaging building is air-conditioned to ensure a constant temperature and to prevent damp, which would be corrosive to the fertiliser.
The palletising line receives the bags from a tubular FFS bagging unit at a rate of up to 2,000 bags per hour. After passing along a belt weigher and an automatic rejection system, they enter the bagging station.
In this case, TMI has installed a layer palletizer and an ILERPAL mobile platform that incorporates a unique range of mechanisms to achieve an average production rate of 1,800 25 kg bags per hour (with 5 bags per layer) and 1,300 50 kg bags per hour (with 3 bags per layer).
Worthy of special note are the numerically-controlled servomotor-driven bag turning unit, which pre-groups the bags, and the specially-fitted anti-corrosion components (e.g. all the conveyor belts have been replaced by a polyethylene mesh).
This packaging and palletizing line has been supplied via our representatives in Poland, the firm Alima-Apck Systemy Pakowania, whose offices and factories are in Srpoda Wlkp. in the Poznan area and with whom we have been working for a number years now.
