Harinas de La Parra continues advancing the industrial automation of its plant with the aim of improving operational reliability, optimizing control of the bagging process, and strengthening the company’s competitiveness within the flour milling industry.
To achieve this, the company trusted TMI Bagging & Palletizing and an automated bagging solution based on the ILERSAC VBF bagging machine, designed to handle powdered products such as flour while ensuring precision, stability, and production continuity.
Precision and reliability in the bagging process
In the flour industry, precise bag weight control is a critical factor in maintaining profitability. Small deviations can have a significant economic impact when operating with very tight margins.
Carlos De La Parra, sixth generation of the company, perfectly summarizes this reality:
“The bagging part is extremely important, especially because flour remains a commodity and margins are very small. Having the product properly packaged, particularly with accurate weight control, can either save or ruin the performance of the entire company. If the flour bags contained just 1% more flour than they should, it could wipe out the results of the entire year.”
Thanks to the bagging solution implemented by TMI Bagging & Palletizing, Harinas De La Parra was able to improve weight control, increase process stability, and reduce operational incidents within the plant.
Beyond the technical improvements, automation also helped simplify operators’ daily work and reorganize certain tasks within the factory, improving overall production efficiency.
Automation to keep growing
The commitment to automation is part of Harinas De La Parra’s continuous modernization strategy. The integration of automated systems helps increase operational stability, reduce downtime, and prepare the plant for future production needs.
Another of the aspects most valued by the company was the reliability of the installation and the technical support provided throughout the project.

As Carlos De La Parra explains:
“We prefer to produce a little less as long as we have the certainty that the machine is going to operate without major issues. In that regard, this machine performs very well, breaks down very rarely, and the technical service is available quickly and efficiently.”
The collaboration between Harinas De La Parra and TMI Bagging & Palletizing demonstrates how bagging automation can become a strategic tool for improving efficiency, operational continuity, and competitiveness within the flour milling industry.
